Putting Suellen Back in the Driver’s Seat

“SUELLEN!” screamed her husband as the car she was driving continued drifting across two lanes of oncoming traffic. Their vacation to Tennessee almost turned into a nightmare because Suellen of Plainfield could not stay focused behind the wheel. Obviously, she had to do something.

Living with Sleep Apnea

For years, Suellen felt tired all day, woke up grumpy, and had zoned out behind the wheel of her car. She knew this was not normal, but unfortunately, it took a brush with disaster to do something about it. She took charge of her health, found a newspaper article on the Hendricks Regional Health Sleep Disorders Center, and attended a free session to discuss sleep issues and c-pap and bi-pap equipment.

Suellen had a sleep study done at another location and the experience was not pleasant, so she was tentative about getting another study done. But she couldn’t have been more pleased with her sleep study at the Hendricks Regional Health Sleep Disorders Center. She got the right answers, the right treatment and the right people to support her.

She quickly started getting 6-7 straight hours of sleep instead of waking up every three hours to go to the bathroom. In fact, she realized that when you are getting proper sleep, you don’t have to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night.

Today, Suellen is back in control of her health and her sleep. She thinks clearer, is more cheerful during the day, and proudly proclaims, “When you have rest, you can do anything!” Which, for Suellen and her husband, means safely driving around the country to visit loved ones.
