Patients admitted to our hospital are often treated by a member of our team of experienced, caring hospitalists. In the same way that cardiologists specialize in caring for heart patients, hospitalists are doctors who specialize in the care of hospitalized patients. Our hospitalist program offers many benefits that lead to improved quality of care for our patients:

  • Due to their training, hospitalists are very familiar with complicated medical situations.
  • Hospitalists can re-evaluate your medical status as often as needed, due to fewer or no practice responsibilities.
  • Follow-up or modifications to your treatment can be made on the spot.
  • When you're ready, discharge can be expedited because the hospitalist is on-site.
  • A hospitalist's availability can make consultation with your family easier to schedule.

Communication is another area where hospitalists have fine-tuned their skills. Upon discharge, your primary care doctor will have access to your discharge report, as well as the results of any tests that were done.
