Job Shadowing

Hendricks Regional Health is proud to offer job shadowing opportunities at different times throughout the year for aspiring healthcare professionals. It’s important to know that job shadowing is different than an internship. With a job shadow experience, students are observing/shadowing a healthcare provider or team to see if that role is a fit for them. Our Volunteer Services team coordinates job shadow scheduling and will do their best to match individuals with the most relevant, enriching opportunity. Only certain departments within the hospital and physician practices accept observers/shadows.

All interested parties are asked to apply on our website at www.hendricks.org/careers select search jobs, then search job shadowing in the search bar. Once your application is complete you will receive a confirmation email that your application was received. A Volunteer Services Coordinator will review each application carefully while evaluating department needs and availability. Please do not contact the department, department manager, or providers regarding the status of your request. If your application is accepted, a Volunteer Services Coordinator will contact you via email to obtain the required documentation.

Applications that do not list specific areas of interest or specific dates of availability will not be considered. Dates listed should be 3 weeks to a month out from the application date, If sooner dates are listed, your application will not be considered. At certain times of the year, job shadowing/observing could be unavailable due to hospital/department availability.
