Dr. Michelle Fenoughty is the Chief Medical Officer, Chief Medical Information Officer and Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs at Hendricks Regional Health. She graduated from the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield, Illinois, and completed OB/GYN residency training at Indiana University in Indianapolis. Most recently, Dr. Fenoughty earned a Business of Medicine Physician MBA through the Indiana University Kelley School of Business. She is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
After establishing and growing an OB/GYN practice serving west central Indiana, Dr. Fenoughty held positions of increasing responsibility in medical affairs at Hendricks. She chaired the OB/Pediatrics Committee from 2004-2011; served as Chief of Staff from 2011 to 2015; and was named Vice President of Medical Affairs and Chief Medical Officer in February 2015. Dr. Fenoughty’s hallmark initiatives include leading the successful implementation of Epic as a single electronic medical record system in 2018. Epic has forever transformed the delivery of care by linking every Hendricks provider and facility to streamline communication, increase safety and empower patients through access to their health information.
Dr. Fenoughty has a unique, 360-degree view of healthcare brought by her executive leadership experience and nearly three decades as a practicing OB/GYN. It’s this perspective and insight that drives her passion to improve quality and efficiency in her community’s medical system.
