Welcome from Our Chief Nursing Officer
Unless we are making progress in our nursing every year, every month, every week, take my word for it we are going back.
— Florence Nightingale, 1914
Spoken almost 100 years ago, these words still ring true. It is only by encouraging nurses to reach their full potential can we truly provide the best patient care. In nearly 20 years at Hendricks Regional Health, I have watched us build amazing nurses by focusing on best practice, education, leadership and respect.
Despite nursing shortages, we have better than national-average retention rates. I believe that is because our nurses feel like an integral part of a team where they enjoy better working relationships with physicians and co-workers, increased job satisfaction and advanced education opportunities. I work to make sure our nurses feel supported and empowered. Explore these pages to learn about the vital role of nursing in our health system.
Sincerely,
Yvonne Culpepper, DNP, RN
Vice President of Nursing/CNO
