Danville – The Women’s Center at Hendricks Regional Health has recently been granted more than $56,000 for support of breast health services for low-income, uninsured or under-insured women. The grants came from two sources:
• $53,096 was granted from the Central Indiana Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. These funds will help low-income women in Hendricks County, and counties to the west of Hendricks County, get mammograms and other screenings, diagnostic procedures and consultations as needed.
• $3,550 was granted from Indiana Breast Cancer Awareness Trust. This gift also helps women in need receive necessary breast health services including a screening mammogram.
Both grants also allow the Hendricks Regional Health Women’s Center to expand outreach and education efforts about breast health. Funds from the grants will be available to qualifying patients beginning January 1, 2011. For more information, or to see if you or a loved one qualify for services covered by one of the grants, contact Hendricks Regional Health Women’s Center nurse and Cancer Navigator, Janet Keene, at (317) 718-6752.
