Childbirth Center Features

Our Childbirth Center offers many amenities for expectant and new families. We offer low-cost childbirth preparation classes to those delivering here—part of our commitment to healthy, happy moms and babies. Moms can also select delicious, made-to-order meals from our room service menu. 

 

 

Hendricks Regional Health's Childbirth Center is ranked in the 96th percentile compared to 2,752 other hospitals across the Nation*. Our staff is dedicated to helping you feel comfortable and confident during your 'Baby Journey'. Our Childbirth Center offers many amenities for expectant and new families, all a part of our commitment to healthy, happy moms and babies.  

Amenities include:

  • Variety of Classes for Labor, Breastfeeding and Infant Care (link to events registration)
  • Private Tours are available by appointment (call 317-718-4585)
  • Natural Light in all Labor Suites and Postpartum Rooms
  • Birthing Balls, peanut balls, showers and whirlpool tubs and many other tools to help with labor positioning and pain
  • Laboring moms are encouraged to move and use gravity to help with labor
  • Advanced fetal monitoring system used during labor and delivery
  • Nitrous Oxide as an alternative to other pain relief options during labor
  • 24 hour Anesthesia coverage for epidural & spinal medication administration
  • Cesarean delivery suite
  • Certified Lactation Specialists for breastfeeding support including classes
  • Family Centered Care, including 'rooming in' with infant. Babies stay with their parents, and staff are always available to help you learn how to rest and care for your baby.
  • Board Certified Pediatric Hospitalists in the hospital 24 hours a day to assess and care for the medical needs of newborns
  • Special Care Nursery for newborns in need of extra monitoring or specialized care
  • Additional rooming in options for parents wanting to stay close to a baby that requires a longer stay in the Special Care Nursery
  • High-tech infant security system
  • A lullaby chime plays in the hospital every time a baby is born
  • Delicious, made to order meals from our room service menu
  • Our nurses practice evidenced-based care and are involved in education to provide up to date and relevant care for all our patients
  • Delayed bathing to help newborns transition after birth and encourage mother-baby bonding.
