Center for Diabetes Excellence

The Hendricks Regional Health Center for Diabetes Excellence helps patients learn how to manage and live well with diabetes – whether they are newly diagnosed or have had diabetes for years. Education is provided one-on-one and with group classes offered year-round. The Center is recognized by the American Diabetes Association and teaches:
  • Blood sugar monitoring
  • Oral medication management
  • Insulin management
  • Exercise recommendations
  • Setting goals
  • Nutrition and meal planning
  • Coping strategies
  • Preventing complications
Specialized services include:
  • Insulin pump therapy education
  • Continuous Glucose Monitoring
  • Monthly diabetes support group
Ask your primary care doctor or physician managing your diabetes to send an order for diabetes education. Once the order is received, we will call to set up your first appointment. Most insurance plans as well as Medicare cover the cost of our programs, although it is a good idea to check for specific coverage guidelines.
