At Hendricks Regional Health, we work hard to stay on the cutting
edge of the latest advancements in surgery, and our physicians commit
themselves to continuing education and specialized training. The
rapid development of new surgical equipment and procedures has, in many
cases, given our patients the opportunity to enjoy shorter hospital
stays and a faster recovery.

Presurgical Evaluation Program (PREP)
Inpatient surgical procedures are
performed at our Danville campus; outpatient procedures are done at
both our Danville campus and at Hibbeln Surgery Center, located at our
Avon campus.
Our surgeons are supported by a Magnet® accredited nursing team and the latest technology. New operating suites at our Danville campus
utilize high-definition monitors for viewing radiology tests and live
laparoscopic procedures. The operating room lighting was designed to provide a
range of illumination, including spotlights and green lighting to give
visual flexibility throughout the rooms. Green lights can be switched
on for better viewing during laparoscopic
procedures, allowing the surgeon’s eye to better distinguish small
details.
Patients who have procedures at Hibbeln Surgery Center in Avon benefit from features designed for
privacy and convenience, including a chronic pain management area and special pediatric areas. Teddy Bear Tours are available for pediatric surgery patients at Hibbeln Surgery Center. Access our printable Preparing Your Child for Surgery
tip sheet.
Features for Family Members
Our patients feel comfortable knowing that while they are in surgery,
their family members are kept well informed. The surgery waiting room
at our Danville campus
features an electronic message board that provides ongoing updates. The
status of each patient is updated by nursing staff, and refreshes every
minute to provide the most recent information possible. Visitors can also take advantage of our delicious, made-to-order fare at The Copper Grill.
And while they are away to grab a bite to eat or a coffee refill, they
can still check in on their loved one’s status. They just need to stop
in at any of the seven ambassador desks located throughout Hendricks Regional Health.
