Prevention and Detection is our Mission.

We support many efforts throughout the year to provide health screenings to our community. Finding health concerns early, when they are the most treatable, is vitally important. Below is a list of many of our screening opportunities. Talk to your doctor about a preventative health plan that is best for you. If you need help finding a physician, we can help. Click here for the screening tests and immunizations that are most recommended by healthcare professionals. Although you and your primary care physician may decide that a different schedule is best for you, these guidelines can guide your discussion.

Colonoscopy Screening

Colon cancer is the number two cause of cancer death in the U.S. Thankfully, 90 percent of colon cancer deaths are preventable with regular screenings. Getting a colonoscopy is the best protection against colorectal cancer. If you're 50 or older, you should receive a colonoscopy once every 10 years. Depending on your personal family medical history and risks, you may need to be screened even earlier. A colonoscopy is the best way to find and remove growths before they become cancerous. Call (317) 745-DOCS for help finding a gastroenterologist or click here for more information.

DexaScan for Bone Density

Approximately half of women over age 50 will be affected by osteoporosis. It's never too early or too late to keep your bones healthy. By detecting bone loss early, patients can begin treatment to minimize the devastating effects of this preventable disease, as well as take steps to prevent further bone loss. We offer DEXA bone densitometry testing, the most advanced diagnostic screening tool for the measurement of bone density. A physician referral is required. Talk to your doctor about your risk for osteoporosis and if screening is right for you. Call (317) 745-3404 or click here for more information.

Mammography Screening

Regular mammograms are the best way for women 40 and up to detect breast cancer at its earliest stages when it most treatable. Our Women's Center utilizes the latest in digital mammography technology to assist our team in finding potential cancers as early possible. In addition, during every mammogram, our staff will administer a comprehensive risk assessment. The results indicate if a woman is at increased risk for developing breast cancer. As part of our Special Follow-Up Breast Program, we meticulously track each patient and ensure that we are more closely following those at higher risk. A physician's referral is not required for a screening mammogram. Call (317) 745-3404, request a mammogram online or schedule directly in MyChart.

Skin Cancer Screening

Skin cancer is the most common cancer in the United States; in fact, 1 in 5 Americans will develop skin cancer in their lifetime. Having an annual skin cancer screening can help detect skin cancer at its earliest, most treatable stage. For help finding a board-certified dermatologist near you, contact (317) 745-DOCS.
