At
Hendricks Regional Health, we believe that a child’s first hospital
experience should be non-threatening and comfortable. Children learn a
great deal through their senses, so explaining what they will see,
hear, smell and feel in a hospital builds their confidence and
understanding. Before they ever need hospital care, they can develop a
comfort level with healthcare providers and the hospital environment.
With this in mind, we
welcome community groups such as preschools,
daycares, scouting troops and others to schedule a tour. Groups are
toured through various areas of the Hendricks Regional Health Danville
campus and receive an age-appropriate goody bag to remember their
visit.
Tours for adult groups are
also available and feature a
behind-the-scenes look at daily hospital activities. Tours can be
tailored to meet the specific needs of all groups, and we encourage you
to specify your requirements when booking your tour.
For the safety of current
hospital patients, tour participants are
asked to complete a screening form to ensure they have received
appropriate vaccinations and are feeling well.
