Meals on Wheels
Meals on Wheels is a non-profit organization that promotes good health, independence and eases loneliness for homebound seniors in our community. Volunteers deliver meals to those who cannot prepare meals for themselves due to illness, disability or age. A team of
registered dietitians
at
Hendricks Regional Health
plan and prepare the meals.
All meals comply with a written diet order approved by each client’s physician. Meals contain one-third of the minimum daily nutritional requirements for adults. Special diets are available as needed.
Meals are delivered Monday through Friday between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Meals on Wheels does not deliver on holidays, including New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. There is a minimal fee to cover the meal cost and part of the office operating expenses. Other expenses are covered by donations from individuals and corporations. Volunteers donate the cost of delivery.
The price of one hot meal delivered Monday through Friday is $23.00 per week. The cost for two meals (one hot, one cold) is $40.50 per week. Prices are subject to change with notice.
