Video Motion Analysis

Video Motion Analysis

Problems with running gaits, throwing motions or golf and tennis swings can often lead to an injury. Physical therapists can better identify these concerns by videotaping patients during their sport or activity. Then they slow down the replay to better analyze the patient in motion.

Physical therapists
at Hendricks Regional Health use Dartfish® software for video analysis. Dartfish® is the same technology used by the NBC network during coverage of the Olympics, and has been endorsed by 10 international governing bodies including those for track and field, volleyball, gymnastics and swimming.

Video motion analysis benefits patients by giving them instant feedback. They can easily see what changes they need to make to prevent an injury and improve their performance.

It also can be used to play two images simultaneously, helping patients compare their own form to the proper form. This aides in the diagnosis and treatment of sports injuries.

The video system can even be used in the Hydroworx® aquatic therapy pool at our
Plainfield campus for patients who require the assistance of buoyancy to unload stress on the spine and joints during therapy sessions.

Hendricks Regional Health includes a multi-specialty hospital with services in
orthopedic surgery and sports medicine. A full range of physical and occupational therapy services are also available. Our therapy team has received national recognition for excellence in patient satisfaction and includes some of the most qualified therapists in the region.
