Plush Toy Programs Bring Comfort to Pediatric Patients

Thursday, October 23, 2014

The sale of cute stuffed animals will bring comfort to kids in several different ways. Donated plush toys will comfort pediatric patients, and proceeds from the sale of others will help build a playground at Hendricks Regional Health.

Hendricks Regional Health Foundation is partnering with PetSmart in Plainfield to bring smiles to the faces of children at Hendricks Regional Health. Customers can purchase one of several cute cuddly stuffed animals when shopping at the Plainfield PetSmart location, and they will be donated to the hospital and given to pediatric patients throughout the year. In just the first week of this promotion, 69 plush toys were donated. This special offer is available now through the holiday season.

A second way stuffed animals comfort kids is with the purchase of Paddy the Penguin from Danville resident, Hendricks Regional Health associate, and Avon representative Patti Carrington. Proceeds from the purchase of every special penguin plush toy will help bring the healing power of play to the hospital with construction of a new playground. Playground components, including a large play structure, swing, free play structures and activity wall panels, were chosen by local elementary school children. Construction is scheduled to begin this fall and be completed in 2015. For more information or to place an order, contact Patti at 459-7419 or PattiCarringtontheAvonLady@gmail.com.
