Free Joint Replacement Talk on May 1

Danville – Joint pain and discomfort are among the most common reasons people seek medical evaluation and treatment. On Thursday, May 1, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Dr. Brad Prather and Dr. Chad Waits, orthopedic surgeons with Hendricks Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, will review and discuss a variety of causes for joint pain and available treatment options, including:
•    Treatment for arthritis of the hip and knee
•    Joint replacement options
•    Minimally invasive anterior hip replacement technique

Physician Information
Dr. Brad Prather specializes in adult total joint replacements, revisions and joint preservation. He is one of only a few physicians in Indiana trained in the direct anterior approach to total hip replacement. This muscle sparing surgery has a shorter recovery time than traditional hip replacement and requires no dislocation precautions for the patient following surgery. A graduate of Wabash College, Dr. Prather completed medical School at Indiana University School of Medicine, residency at the University of Louisville School of Medicine, and fellowship training at Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas.

Dr. Chad Waits specializes in joint replacement, arthroscopic surgeries, fracture management and tendon and ligament reconstruction/repair. He received his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center. He went on to complete a sports medicine fellowship at Wellington Orthopedics/University of Cincinnati where he also provided medical coverage for the Cincinnati Bengals football team and the University of Cincinnati Athletics Department.
