Biography

What is a Neurohospitalist?
A neurohospitalist is a doctor who cares for patients admitted to the hospital needing specialized neurology care. Patients that can benefit from a neurohospitalist include those with a neurological abnormality that caused their hospital stay, or is complicating their care. Neurohospitalists evaluate and treat nervous system conditions such as stroke, seizure disorders or altered mental status. They order, interpret and follow-up on tests, communicate with patients and families, and work closely with the healthcare team throughout the patient’s stay.
