Teddy Bear Tours for Children

Teddy Bear Tours for Children

“I felt as if the nurses were taking care of their own child, they even knew her favorite flavor of popsicle.”
– Brook M., Plainfield, Mom of Hibbeln Surgery Center patient

Research shows that kids feel better faster and heal more quickly when they are prepared for their surgery. Our Teddy Bear Tours provide an opportunity for kids to explore the hospital or surgery center environment in a fun, relaxed way prior to their surgery. “We like to give our patients a walking tour or wagon ride before their procedure, and we show them what the doctors and nurses will look like with their masks on. We tell our kids that even though they can’t see underneath the masks, we are always smiling at them,” says Marie Frazier, Hibbeln Surgery Center nurse.

Patients who have procedures at Hibbeln Surgery Center in Avon benefit from features designed for privacy and convenience, including a chronic pain management area and special pediatric areas. Teddy Bear Tours are available for pediatric surgery patients at Hibbeln Surgery Center.
