What Makes Hendricks Regional Health Different?
Hendricks Regional Health has a unique, two-tiered approach to governing quality. Our quality governance council meets with medical executive committee members quarterly to identify opportunities for improvement. A member of the Board of Trustees is also involved to see first-hand the challenges and successes of delivering high quality care in a busy hospital.

Sometimes, despite all the preventative work, a patient may have a less-than-desirable outcome. That patient experience will be reviewed by a quality steering committee (including physicians, nurses, pharmacy and therapy staff) to identify issues and improvement opportunities. The steering committee implements a rapid improvement process called Situation Background Assessment Recommendation (SBAR), an intensive six-week improvement process to provide quick intervention, understand why a problem occurred and how processes can be changed to fix the problem. This unique approach contributes to our "Treat People Better" mission by ensuring our processes have the best outcomes possible.

Care Based on Research
Electronic records are reviewed for every patient regardless if they are an inpatient or outpatient to ensure quality care is provided. A collaborative effort between care coordination staff, the quality resource management department and frontline nursing staff ensures evidence-based practices are used in our hospital. Evidence-based practice is about providing care based on extensive research that results in the best possible care for patients.
