Complementary Resources

Complementary Resources

Many of our patients find that complementary care is beneficial during their treatment journey to promoting healing and improve quality of life.

It is important to talk with your medical team about any complementary care you are receiving, and also to use them as a resource for questions or concerns. Complementary options at Hendricks Regional Health may include:

Chaplaincy/Pastoral Care

The chaplaincy department is available to meet the spiritual and emotional needs of patients and their families throughout their cancer journey.
Call (317) 745-3417.

Nutrition Support

Eating the right foods during treatment can help patients feel better and stay stronger. Nutrition counseling and support is available to all patients undergoing cancer treatment. Our dietitians work closely with the patient’s medical team to identify opportunities for nutritional support. Call (317) 745-3769.

Cancer Support Group

A cancer support group for patients and caregivers is available.
Call (317) 272-3636.

Paws to Pet Program

Specially trained dogs help provide a soothing emotional experience that can provide a positive impact for our patients. The canine companions provide compassion and support that families appreciate in times of need.

Massage Therapy

Patients staying in the hospital have access to trained massage therapists. Some of the benefits include promoting rest and helping to alleviate discomfort.

Wellness

After treatment, get help managing your overall health with a partner. Through one-on-one coaching, wellness nurses can provide support for increased physical activity, better stress management and more. In addition, we offer a wide variety of low-cost fitness classes to the community.

Acupuncture

Dr. Joseph Herr
, board-certified neurologist with Hendricks Neurology, offers acupuncture services. Call (317) 718-4730.
