  Dennis Dawes, President and Chief Executive Officer
Dennis Dawes is a graduate of Taylor University where he majored in religious studies. In 1972, he was accepted to the master’s program in Health Administration at Indiana University School of Medicine, and began as assistant administrator at Hendricks County Hospital. In 1974 he was named hospital administrator and still serves as president and CEO today. He was recognized as the county's most notable philanthropist by a 2008 Hendricks County Flyer readership poll and is personally committed to staying physically, spiritually and emotionally fit to set a positive example for the workforce he leads.
John Komenda, Chief Financial Officer
John Komenda has been Chief Financial Officer since November 1983. Prior healthcare experience includes five years as a member of healthcare audit and consulting teams for two regional CPA firms and one year as a cost accountant at Indiana University Medical Center. Komenda received his bachelor of science degree (1976) and his master's degree in business administration (1991) from Indiana University. He is active in his church and civic groups. Professional affiliations include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Indiana CPA Society and Healthcare Financial Management Association.
Dennis Barger, Vice President, Physician Practice Management
Dennis Barger received his bachelor of science degree in business administration from Morehead State University and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Indianapolis. He served as Vice President of Professional Services from 1982 to 1987, leaving for six years to serve as President/CEO for Affiliated Hospitals of Indiana, Inc. He returned in 1993 and has served in his current role since that time. Barger is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, the Medical Group Management Association, Suburban Health Organization and VHA.
Yvonne Culpepper, DNP, RN, Vice President, Nursing
Prior to joining Hendricks Regional Health in 1990, Yvonne Culpepper managed a surgical trauma unit, a short stay unit and outpatient dialysis at Methodist Hospital of Indianapolis. She received her bachelor of science degree and a master's degree in nursing from Indiana University. She is currently working toward her doctorate in nursing from Purdue University. She is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives, the Indiana Organization of Nurse Executives and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of nursing. She is active in her church and various community groups.
John Sparzo, MD, MBA, Vice President, Medical Affairs
Dr. John Sparzo completed his medical training and residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at the Indiana University School of Medicine. He is also working toward a master's degree in Business Administration at Ball State University. He practiced medicine for five years at Indiana Adult and Pediatric Medicine before taking an administrative role at Hendricks Regional Health. He has volunteered his medical expertise by providing care to the uninsured at Kingsway Community Care Center in Avon and also serves in leadership roles of several nonprofit community health and educational nonprofit organizations.
